Waiting for Rain Shawl

Taught by Trish Habegger

Saturdays - April 7th, 14th. and May 5th.

1-3:00 PM

A beautiful shawl for spring weddings and Mother's Day, this shawl features unique short row lace sections.  It can be made with stripes or in a single color.  This could be your first lace project if you have courage and are willing to count.  There is no need to be fearful; Trish will help you along the way.  In the first class, you'll be starting at he top center of the shawl.  Second class will be the beginning of the first lace section.  Then knit for a few weeks, and complete the shawl in the last class with a stretchy bind off or the lace picot bind off like the sample.

Skill Level:  Students must be comfortable with knitting, purling, yarn overs, ssk, and k2tog decreases.

Supplies needed:

- Approximately 800 yds of fingering weight yarn.  Striping and picot edge add to amount needed.  Please purchase more than you think you need, but wait to have the 3rd skein wound.  (Sample uses 3 skeins of Cascade Sorata, a baby llama/silk blend; 2 skeins silver, 1 skein charcoal.)

- US size 6 circular needle, at least 24" long

- stitch markers (lots of them)

- Tapestry needle

Cost:  $70 for class (includes pattern and 10% discount on yarn for this project)
