Basic Knit Pullover Sweater Construction


This class is for students with a basic background in knitting. If sweater patterns confuse you, we can help decipher the steps to creating a sweater that is designed to fit your body type and size.  Shaping is completed with correctly placed increases and decreases.  Maggie will guide you in choosing the right yarn for the desired fabric, loose or clingy, or somewhere in between.  Dates: Saturdays, January 28th  , February 25th, and March 4th.2017.   1 – 3:00 PM

Cost: $50, (3) 2-hr sessions .

Skill level: Basic Knitting skills

Skills gained: 

  • equipment & materials
  • learn to read a knitting pattern and knit a gauge.
  • Shaping with increases and decreases. Learn to adjust for your shape.
  • Blocking your finished garment.

Supplies needed for the class:  10% off on class supplies purchased in Reverie

Size 8  16” and 32” circular needles; 1 set of size 8 dpns or a size 8  12” circular (for sleeves).

Size 6   16” circular needles (for neck ribbing); 1 set of size 6 dpns.

Yarn needle

Approx. 1800-2500 yds of worsted weight yarn (wool, cotton, alpaca, or blend).  Please allow Maggie to assist you in choosing the yarn appropriate for your fabric choice.
